Integration Engineer

Responsibilities:

  1. API Integration:

    • Design and implement robust API solutions to integrate seamlessly with both vendor and customer APIs.
    • Work closely with external and internal teams to understand their API structures and data flow requirements, ensuring successful integration projects.
    • Develop and maintain integration documentation, including API specifications, data models, and flow diagrams to support the integration process.

  2. Development and Maintenance:

    • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in Python to support API integrations.
    • Continuously monitor, test, and debug API integrations to ensure they are functioning optimally and update them according to new requirements or changes in the external APIs.
    • Implement security protocols and data protection measures to safeguard sensitive information transmitted via APIs.

  3. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Collaborate with project managers, developers, and external stakeholders to define integration requirements, timelines, and expectations.
    • Communicate technical details and integration processes effectively to both technical and non-technical team members.
    • Provide support and guidance to other team members working on API integration projects, fostering a collaborative work environment.

  4. Continuous Improvement:

    • Stay updated with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in API development and integration.
    • Evaluate and recommend new technologies or approaches that can improve integration efficiency and reliability.
    • Participate in code reviews, contributing to the team’s continuous improvement in coding standards and practices.

Requirements:

  1. Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in Python programming, with a strong understanding of its ecosystems and libraries relevant to API integration.
    • At least 2 years of programming experience, with a significant portion dedicated to API development and integration.
    • Solid understanding of RESTful API principles, OAuth, and other authentication/authorization protocols.

  2. Experience:

    • Demonstrated experience in integrating with various APIs, including third-party vendors and custom-built APIs.
    • Experience in using API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI) and version control systems (e.g., Git).

  3. Communication Skills:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  4. Educational Background:

    • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory if relevant experience exceeds requirements.

  5. Personal Attributes:

    • A proactive, self-motivated individual who can manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
    • A commitment to high standards of quality and a meticulous approach to problem-solving and debugging.
    • Openness to feedback and a continuous learning mindset.
